I'm ready for my new family!

Squanto

I'm Available
Squanto the good boy moved inside from the kennels sand so far there has not been one single potty accident in the house, not even in his crate.
He’s great with the cats, he’s interested in them and really wants them to play with him but he gets the point if they hiss or swat. He’s doing great with all of the dogs big and small, old and young, grouchy and grouchier. He wants to PLAY so he’s like an annoying little brother right now trying to figure out which dogs might want to play and who to steer clear of.
He LOVES toys, especially a nice bouncy ball that he can throw around and chase.
He has not chewed anything up so far, but we do keep lots of toys around to help prevent the dogs from chewing things they aren’t supposed to.
He is my shadow and follows me everywhere. He can go outside with me off leash and stay with me. He will stop on a dime when you make the ”tcha tcha” sound (you know the one we all automatically do to get the attention of any animal) and he can walk aroundd with the chickens and leaves them alone. I thought maybe one would play and be his friend but when it trotted off Squanto just went about his business.
He knows his name but should quickly learn a new name also as he picks things up quickly.
He’s young so he does have energy but he isn’t over the top and he will knock it off when told if he’s getting carried away.
If I had to choose a flaw in Squanto it is that he has no awareness of his body yet. He throws paws and head butts accidentally when trying to cuddle, he just gets so excited. He jumps up on everything as well which we are working on and is completely trainable. He is just all legs and still a little awkward.
Squanto is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested and negative, microchipped, and treated for parasites.
His adoption fee is are basic adult large breed adoption fee of $250. This amount may seem high and many people believe rescues and shelters should give the dogs away or have very low fees. This $250 adoption fee does not even cover the amount that we have spent vetting Squanto and without some sort of money coming back in to off set what has been spent, we can’t afford to help the next dog in need.
All adoptions are by application which you can find on our website. We also require the application be completed prior to any meet and greets.
If Squanto might be the dog for you, reach out via message or email. I would be happy to answer any questions about him!
